6 Small Business Saturday Events You Don’t Want to Miss

Haven’t even made a dent in your holiday shopping this year? That’s OK—Small Business Saturday is almost here. On Nov. 26, find plenty of deals, refreshments, giveaways and other perks at these local shopping destinations. (Pro tip: Download Open Rewards before you venture out. It’s a new partnership between Arlington Economic Development’s BizLaunch and tech company BluDot that allows users to earn rewards toward future purchases.) Here are five events worth a visit.

Arlington & Falls Church Shopping Passport

Nov. 26, 11 a.m.

Many of your favorite local shops are teaming up for this all-day event hosted by One More Page Books. Pick up a shopping passport and pop by any five participating retailers—including Ayers Variety and Hardware, Botanologica, Covet, Preservation Biscuit, Urban Farmhouse and more—for deals, giveaways and the chance to win a grand prize basket filled with goodies and gift certificates. // Various locations in Arlington and Falls Church

Alexandria Shop Small Weekend

Nov. 25-26

Stroll the streets of Old Town, home to scores of boutiques, for exclusive deals, in-store events and gifts with purchase. Head to any of some 50 independent shops participating in Plaid Friday, including destinations for craft-making, beauty products, jewelry, home decor and apparel. On Saturday, head back out for a second day of shopping local; nearly 65 shops will join the day of deals for Small Business Saturday. // Old Town Alexandria

Beauty Champagne and Sugar Boutique

Nov. 26, Noon-9 p.m.

This recently opened sips and sweets emporium in Crystal City is inviting patrons to stop by on Small Business Saturday for discounts and a taste of the shop. From noon to 4 p.m., enjoy a free wine tasting of selections for the holiday season, as well as samples of their famed Guilty Pleasure cookies. The first 25 folks to make an in-store purchase will receive a 10% off coupon for December.
