Owner Sol Schott has no shortage of variety for your Thanksgiving dessert table. Up to two weeks before the holiday, you can order 7- or 10-inch pies in most of the shop’s regular flavors, including vegan apple, sour cherry with streusel topping and pecan chocolate maple. After Nov. 14, only the larger size will be available and the flavors will be limited to Thanksgiving favs: apple cranberry, mixed berry, pumpkin with candied ginger and sweet potato. If you prefer your pie a la cold, go for an icebox version ($38) in flavors such as frozen hot chocolate, peanut butter Nutella and pumpkin spice latte. Jake’s Ice Cream
Ice cream pies are available year round at this four-year-old scoop shop that employs people with disabilities (as does its sister store, Jake’s Gourmet Popcorn). The lead-up to Thanksgiving brings seasonal flavors such as pumpkin pie, cranberry and sweet potato casserole, although you can also customize the specials with any of the 24 ice cream flavors available at any given time, according to manager Paul Badey. Some pies ($27) will be available for grab-and-go, but custom orders should be made at least 48 hours in advance.
