Where to Drink Beer Outdoors Now

Hit these local hangouts for a cold brew on a hot day — or night.

And Coming Soon…

As summer wears on, you’ll get a bonus round of beer gardens. First up is Continental Beer Garden, tucked amid the high-rise buildings of Rosslyn. In recent years, this former gas station spot has hosted plenty of pop-up beer events, but now it’s been taken over by the owners of the nearby Continental Pool Lounge. Expect plenty of German beers and Virginia craft options, plus a menu from Marjorie Meek-Bradley, the chef behind D.C. stalwarts Ripple and Roofers Union.

Also close to opening: Brickhaus on Columbia Pike, a beer destination by the owners of Twisted Vines bistro. The place will serve German-inspired food and 24 drafts—four German, and the other 20 all brewed within 250 miles.

Later this year, The Lot comes to a former used-car dealership on Wilson Boulevard. Details have been hard to pin down, but it comes from the same folks who recently opened Bar Bao and Pamplona.
