Metropolitan Hospitality Group’s sister establishments in Rosslyn, Clarendon and Merrifield are all offering the same 4-course Valentine’s Day menu ($85 for 2) to go. Diners have two choices for each course, including a charcuterie sampler, shrimp cocktail or crab dip to start; beet salad or fresh burrata salad; and beef tenderloin or jumbo shrimp scampi for the main course. The Clarendon brasserie’s special Valentine’s a la carte menu, available Feb. 11-14, includes starters like oysters Rockefeller, strawberry salad, and housemade burrata and ham on crostini. Move on to mains such as juniper-crusted duck breast, surf & turf (filet and poached lobster tail) or pan-seared scallops with lobster ravioli. Desserts for two include Mexican chocolate ganache cake or a vanilla and raspberry brioche tarte with rose petal cream and raspberry sorbet. American Prime
The Tyson’s steakhouse is serving up romantic dinner classics. Dinner for two ($150) includes lobster bisque, a choice of Tomahawk or Porterhouse steak or a bone-in smoked short rib with sides, and a flourless chocolate cake to finish (if you have room). The restaurant is closed Sunday, so this menu will only be available for take-out on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13. American Prime is also offering a separate Valentine’s menu for on-site dining on its spacious patio. Fans of D.C.’s erstwhile Galileo (which for years held top spots on many a best restaurants list) will be delighted to discover that its celebrated chef/restaurateur is now making food to-go, available for pick-up in Tysons and Arlington. Chef Roberto Donna’s San Valentino four-course menu ($200 for 2) starts with canapes like blinis with crème fraiche and caviar, and fresh ciabatta with smoked salmon spread. Entrées include a choice of roasted veal loin or butter-poached Maine lobster. For dessert, indulge in white-chocolate cremoso with chestnuts, oranges and pears, topped with a chocolate-hazelnut crumble, plus an extra sweet gesture in the form of chocolate-dipped strawberries. Diners can also add wine to this menu; order a package of three bottles for $100 or select single bottles. Orders must be in by Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. for pickup on Feb. 14. The Clarendon wine bar is pairing vino tasting with laughter to mark this year’s Valentine’s Day. The lineup for its virtual Valentine’s Eve show has five comedians and five, 3-ounce pours. Registration is open now and tastings can be picked up anytime on Feb. 13. The Maryland-based catering company is offering delivery of its Valentine’s menus, add-ons and a la carte items to Arlington and other parts of Northern Virginia on Feb. 13 for $50. Start the day with specialty brunch dishes like heart-shaped mini croque monsieurs or a loaded charcuterie board for four. Finish the evening with a special dinner for two ($250)—complete with mini heart-shaped cookies and a heart-shaped fudge cake. So many hearts! But for $20, you can add a Valentine’s Day chocolate chiffon cake—finished with almond ganache, chocolate mousse and chocolate pearls—to any of chef Bertrand Chemel’s take-out menus for two.
