Skip The Grocery Store and Try Home Delivery

Too busy to shop? Food-delivery options are multiplying, including three that recently expanded to Arlington.

From the Farmer

From the Farmer also aims to make farmers-market goodies more accessible via weekly deliveries from its Beltsville, Maryland base. The company focuses on a farm box-based delivery model that allows customers to add extras, such as black spanish radishes or ham steaks from its own butcher shop. Weekly subscriptions start at $29.

4P Foods

Washington, D.C.-based 4P Foods adds another element to the CSA delivery model by donating a bag of food to local food bank partners for every 10 bags sold to customers. In addition to a weekly bag of produce that starts at $35, 4P sells “protein bags” of meat and eggs starting at $55 and “dairy bags” of milk, cheese and yogurt starting at $43. The business also sells an “office share” bag of fruit and snacks delivered to local companies.

These options should give buyers a break from their grocery store routines — at least until they run out of dish soap.”
