I’m trying to cajole her into making me a grown-up pair of the adorable fringe-and-tasseled baby moccasins that she creates and sells on her Etsy site, The Bashful Elephant (www.etsy.com/shop/TheBashfulElephant). A resident of Rosslyn, Premo taught herself how to sew on her grandmother’s old sewing machine and routinely tests out her designs on her four nieces. The mocs come in a variety of styles and colors, with and without furry lining. Premo will also make custom orders, but alas, only in sizes that fit newborns and toddlers. So, for now, it appears I’ll need to content myself with buying them as baby gifts. $34-$38
