Pet Harbor Rescue and Referral, Inc. held their first Barktoberfest event this October at the Hilton Garden Inn Arlington/Courthouse. It was well-attended and helped raise much needed funds for Pet Harbor Rescue and Referral, Inc. Guests enjoyed some of Pet Harbor Rescue and Referral, Inc.’s favorite German cuisine, such as Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, Warm Jumbo Pretzels, and an assortment of fall Brews. All of the furry friends also got to enjoy special all-natural sausages, pretzels, and a signature Bowser Brew donated by Dogma Bakery in Shirlington.
The Pet Harbor Rescue foster dog, Scotty, also strutted his cuteness around trying to recruit forever parents and raised funds for the cause.
During the event a special Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest was also held. With the assistance of all the Barktoberfest guests a winner was chosen, who received a German-themed gift basket, filled with popular German goodies from the one and only Heidelberg Bakery in Arlington. The second place runnerup received a Gift Certificate from Arlington’s Ragtime Restaurant.
