Reese Gardner’s country-western saloon in the former Clarendon Grill space turns out steaks, burgers, local seafood, weekend brunch and Southern favorites like fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs and country caviar—plus craft cocktails, some of them made with an 88-proof Virginia heritage cask whiskey created in partnership with Catoctin Creek Distillery. Toryumon Japanese House
Rosslyn has a new go-to for sushi, ramen and Japanese hibachi specialties. Creative rolls include the Truffle Tribeca (spicy tuna, avocado, salmon and yellowtail with truffle soy sauce) and the formidable house Toryumon Roll (tempura lobster, avocado, mango, lettuce, jalapeno, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, fried kani, eel, spicy mayo and honey-wasabi). Café Colline
Helmed by executive chef Brendan L’Etoile (Chez Billy Sud) in partnership with Ian and Eric Hilton, the French bistro in the former Cassatt’s Café space in Lee Heights has already developed a following with French bistro fare (for now, limited to takeout) like rillettes, boudin blanc sausage, braised short ribs and chicken confit.
