Sfoglina
The name is pronounced “sfaah-lee-nah” and means pasta maker. Living up to that promise, this urbane-yet-homey newcomer by Fabio Trabocchi, the acclaimed restaurateur behind Michelin-starred Fiola and several other hot properties in the District, makes its pastas on-site; in fact a glass-walled room turns the operation into a spectator sport for the food-obsessed. Other temptations include a mozzarella/antipasti bar, artfully composed Italian cocktails and soft-serve gelato.
