Lyon Hall
The lively brasserie is offering a three-course dinner menu ($35.17) with temptations like French onion soup, grilled pumpkin salad, steak frites, pork schnitzel with porcini mushroom spaetzli, or roasted salmon with curried lentils. For a sweet finish, order the crème brulee or dark chocolate mousse with orange custard.
New District Brewing
The one-year-old microbrewery in Shirlington doesn’t serve food, but it’s got some special brews on tap this week, including the Potomac paddleboarder (a citrus blonde with hints of pineapple) and the ESB (Extra Special Bitter, a malt-forward brew with a smooth finish), for $6.17 each. Alternately, satisfy your thirst with a pint of Strike a Chord (a pilsner with citrusy sweetness and pine notes) or Call to Action, a super bitter IPA, for $7.17 each.
Osteria da Nino
Craving Italian? The Shirlington trattoria’s three-course lunch menu ($20.17) features dishes such as arancini with basil pesto; crispy Brussels sprouts with beet purée and pistachios; Branzino with fennel, olives and preserved orange; campanelle with pork sausage and broccoli rabe; cannoli and tiramisu. The dinner menu ($35.17) brings many of the same choices, plus a few more, like lamb ragu with mint oil and pecorino; rainbow trout in brown-butter sauce; and ravioli with Bufala ricotta and spinach.
O’Sullivans Irish Pub
Keeping the spirit of St. Paddy’s Day going for another week, the Clarendon pub’s three-course dinner menu ($21.17) brings crowd-pleasers like Dingle dots (deep-fried corned beef, cabbage and potato balls), bangers and mash, or a Guinness burger, plus three solid dessert choices: apple pie, chocolate cake or bread pudding.
Oz Restaurant and Bar
Try Australian fare along the lines of beetroot sliders, confit squash, braised boar shank, fish & chips and a kangaroo burger topped with fried egg, plus desserts such as pavlova and an avocado milkshake with vanilla and cinnamon. The three-course lunch and dinner menus are $22 and $35, respectively.
