College applications are on the rise in Arlington. In 2022, Arlington Public School seniors collectively reported having sent out 10,583 college applications—a 28% increase over applications from just four years prior. So where did the most recent graduating class apply? Here are the colleges and universities that received the most applications from the APS class of 2022.
The application data below was self-reported by students from Woodlawn Secondary Program, Wakefield High School, Washington-Liberty High School and Yorktown High School, as well as the Arlington Career Center (ACC), whose full-time programs include Arlington Tech, the Academic Academy, the Program for Employment Preparedness (PEP) and the English Language Institute. The full data appears in our annual College Bound admissions chart, which ran in the Sept./Oct. 2022 issue of Arlington Magazine. Given that the acceptance information was self-reported by the graduates, school officials stress that they cannot verify its accuracy. Data for Northern Virginia Community College was unavailable.
