McLean’s 10 Most Expensive Neighborhoods

Buyers paid a premium for these upscale enclaves just outside the nation's capital.

#5 The Reserve

A gated community located within the larger neighborhood of Garfield Park, The Reserve is a luxury Miller and Smith development with 168 custom homes built between 1999 and 2006. “Its neo-traditional homes are big,” Phillips says, “with most topping 7,000 square feet.”

Many feature amenities such as wine cellars and indoor pools, Norusis adds. “During build out builders kept the integrity of the land by keeping as many mature trees as possible, plus the community is just south of the popular Scotts Run Nature Preserve. Recent home sales hovered between $2 million and $3+ million.”
