Mark your calendar for the fifth annual Handmade Arlington juried art and crafts show, which takes place at Swanson Middle School on April 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring art, décor, gifts and jewelry from more than 45 local and regional artisans. Past finds have included original drawings and greeting cards by Fast Snail, wearable art from local silversmith Julie Jernigan, intricate paper cuttings by David Jenkins, original furniture and wood creations from Christina Boy Design, and small-batch organic beauty products from Skincando. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Food trucks will provide fuel for hungry shoppers, and donations from the pay-what-you-can Starbucks coffee bar will be added to the event’s proceeds, which go directly to benefit local teachers’ grants. www.facebook.com/HandmadeArlington
