To the staff of this Arlington design-build firm, your home isn’t just a house—it’s a work of art. Almost every member of the team is an artist, explains marketing assistant Hannah Burkholder, an oil painter whom co-owner Michael Sauri (a musician) recruited after seeing her work on display at Kaldi’s Social House in Clarendon. Site supervisor Denny Lewis makes artisanal wooden bowls. Another staff member is a photographer. That creativity tends to trickle into the builder’s work for its clients. “We’re not a typical construction company,” says co-owner Deborah Sauri, a graphic designer. “It really is about the art.” –Wendy Kantor
