Fresh flowers are a little harder to come by this year as supply chains have been disrupted by coronavirus. Some local floral designers (Tiny Bloom Shop, Stem and Thistle) are already maxed out on Mother’s Day orders, but you can still order bouquets, plants and other sweet gifts for curbside pickup or delivery from the purveyors below.
HB Fiori
Flower designer Hermon Black will have arrangements for sale (available on a first-come, first-serve basis, until supplies run out) at Lebanese Taverna Market next to the Lee Heights Shops ( 4400 Old Dominion Drive, Arlington) Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9. You can also pre-order arrangements for pickup at Covet (5140 Wilson Blvd.) on May 9 between 10 a.m. and noon. All of the blooms in this year’s bouquets will be American grown, mostly from farms in Virginia, Maryland and California.
Galleria Florist
Shop owner Alisa Rabinovich is providing contact-free delivery, and pickups via a cart set up at the entrance of the store. The gift options include loose-wrap bouquets, vase arrangements, potted plants, candles and skincare products, as well as chocolates and luxury CBD gummies by Lord Jones. The shop will also have DIY kits with online instructional videos for creating your own bouquet. Place orders in advance online or by calling 703-536-0770. // 7187 Lee Highway, Falls Church
Botanologica
All of the Mother’s Day flower arrangements are spoken for, but you can still buy potted plants, decorative flower pots and other giftables (jewelry, candles and more) from the Falls Church boutique run by Holly Manon and Julie Liu. Visit their Instagram page for photos of the options. Curbside pickups available starting May 8, and some local deliveries may be possible.
Company Flowers
Marnie and John Nicholson’s beloved local shop on Lee Highway is offering pretty arrangements and gifts—everything from scented soaps and bath soaks to bonsai-pruning tools, or a “crazy cat lady” basket of home goods—for curbside pickup or delivery in Arlington, Falls Church and McLean. Call 703-525-3062 to order.
