Marymount University welcomed over 300 children to HalloweenFest 2012 on October 26. Across the campus, there were spottings of Buzz Lightyear, Thomas the Tank Engine, Disney princesses and more.
The children enjoyed an afternoon of games, crafts and trick-or-treating through decorated residence Halls.
Sponsored by Marymount’s Campus Ministry Association, the event is a campus-wide volunteer effort that is fun for everyone involved.
HalloweenFest is a way for Marymount to give back to the wider community. MU senior Noah McGrath noted, “I’ve been involved with this event all four years, and I think it’s great that Marymount is helping these children have a full Halloween experience in a safe environment.”
Alishiya Kapoor, also a senior, added, “HalloweenFest builds Marymount’s connection to the community by highlighting the University’s emphasis on service, which is part of our Common Ground theme. It brings all of MU together to serve others. “
