Gift Alert: The Urban Farmhouse

The Bluemont home goods boutique has a new owner and new merch.

The Urban Farmhouse has a brand-new bag. On May 1, June Tait took ownership of the Bluemont home-and-gifts boutique along with her parents, Sandy and Gary Gould, infusing it with a vision of her own. This translates to fewer barnyard animals, more Joanna Gaines Fixer Upper-esque housewares, functional antiques and decorative pieces from Europe.

Tait, an Arlington mom of three with nearly two decades of retail experience, says she will continue to showcase local and regional artisans, including milk-bottle candles from Baltimore-based Milk Reclamation Barn; herbal soaps from Alexandria-based Truly-Life; and gift-worthy jams, shrubs and chutneys from her husband’s family farm in Pennsylvania. She’s also working with a local carpenter to stock more Arlington-themed décor and signage. And monthly wine nights are making after-hours shopping more festive.
