A bar walks into a coffee shop…
Falls Church has a new hangout with the debut of Townshend, a pub tucked inside the coffee house Café Kindred. Named for guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend, the casual spot offers a full bar, craft cocktails, four rotating beer taps and plenty of rock and new wave memorabilia. Also on the menu: an array of towering burgers (with a veggie burger option for herbivores) and cast-iron skillet dishes like loaded chili-cheese fries and mac ’n’ cheese. That’s in addition to the coffee shop menu, which includes breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soup, salad, pastries and espresso drinks made with locally roasted Vigilante beans. Townshend opened on Nov. 11, reports Falls Church News-Press. Cool vibe.
