Fans of Discovery Channel’s uber-popular Shark Week can celebrate with special snacks and cocktails at Requin in the Mosaic District.
Call it chef /co-owner Jennifer Carroll’s way of having a little fun with the name (Requin is French for shark). Through July 3, diners at the bar can order from a special Shark Week menu while watching Shark Week programming all day. Eats include scallop and tuna tartare with radish and fennel; duck confit croquettes with potato and scallion; boudin noir (blood sausage) with tomato, kale and orange segments, and a strawberry and green chartreuse sorbet. Dishes are $8-$16.
Prefer to celebrate with cocktails? Try the “High Tide” with tequila, Aperol, Cointreau, watermelon and lime, or the “Blood in the Water” with cachaça, falernum, hibiscus, creme de violette and lemon. Both drinks are $10.
Requin is located at 8296 Glass Alley in the Mosaic District and is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.
