If flea markets and outdoor antiquing find you in your happy place, consider a road trip to Berryville, Virginia, this weekend. The 19th Annual Lucketts Spring Market takes over the Clarke County Fairgrounds May 18-20, featuring acres of vintage and shabby-chic vendors, live local musicians, fun family activities, photo-ops and food trucks serving eats ranging from gourmet doughnuts and gelato to crab cakes.
You can rent a red wagon for $5 per day to help transport your haul—funky jewelry, rustic housewares, garden ornaments and tons more—from the fair’s 200+ participating vendors. Expect returning favorites like Ekster Antiques and Rust & Feathers, along with smaller artisans such as Olde Tyme Marketplace, whose owner, Beth Swanson Lewis, sells old-timey apothecary jars and ceramic crocks. If you’re on the hunt for a larger piece such as, say, a clawfoot tub, salvaged stained glass window or rehabbed armoire, be sure to bring a big truck or van. Or you can flag down one of the event’s on-site movers to schedule a home delivery for an added fee.
Adults will appreciate the large beer and wine garden. Vanish, a local brewery that prides itself on using local ingredients, is bringing four beers to the market, including its “Lucketts Store Light” pilsner; “Lucketts Calling,” a Citra Wheat IPA; a Belgian White Wraith; and its Amber Waves ale.
For the little ones, a “Young McDonald’s Farm” will offer pony rides and a chance to meet other animals.
There will also be a few Instagram-worthy vintage cars and trucks on display.
