3. Tactile Finishes
These are not your grandmother’s case goods. The latest finishes are highly stylized and textured—be they grainy, lacquered, distressed, zebra or inlaid. Fabric and leather-wrapped pieces are everywhere. This is furniture you want to touch. I like to mix different textures and finishes in my designs for maximum impact. Don’t have the budget for that showstopper of a sideboard? You can also introduce texture with wallpaper, art and pillow fabrics.
