Something Fido-friendly…

Don’t forget your furry friend this holiday season. Sheila Raebel’s Dogma Bakery – celebrating its 20th anniversary next November – is here to help you check your four-legged best friend off the holiday shopping to-do list. The shop offers, as much as possible, products from local vendors like Gentle Harvest’s Upperville-based MeatMe food and treats, and, as its name suggests, baked goods fit for Fido. These are available year-round, but in keeping with the holiday spirit, will be appropriately themed and come in bags that shoppers can grab for animal-loving stocking stuffers. Get yours early – holiday doggy treats tend to sell out quickly, so if you need a whole bunch, be sure to call ahead. And if you’re worried about puppy allergies, don’t be: Dogma Bakery just started carrying treats made out of crickets. “Sounds gross,” Raebel concedes, “but it’s going to be hard to find a dog with an allergy to cricket protein.” You’ll find those critter treats on display Small Business Saturday, and possibly score some deals on gifts for canines, friends, family, and even yourself, as specials will pop up throughout the day. // 2772 S.
