3. Brunch at the Ritz
You can never go wrong treating Mom to an elegant brunch at the Ritz-Carlton. This year’s gourmet spread at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City will include an omelette station, various cheese boards, a waffle station, fresh croissants, a carving station and a tempting dessert menu that includes macarons, tiramisu and fruit tarts, to name a few. Held in the Grand Ballroom, the event will also feature live music and a children’s area, complete with a coloring station and kids’ buffet. Tickets are $89 for adults and $40 for children. A similar brunch held at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner ($116 per adult; $42 for kids 4-12) will feature similar fare, plus a raw bar, an on-site sushi chef, a Chinese “food truck” serving dim sum and a flower cart offering complimentary tulip bouquets.
