What’s on Tap: Up for an upscale road trip? On Tuesday, March 19, The Inn and its acclaimed chef/proprietor, Patrick O’Connell, welcome Daniel Mulhall, Ireland’s Ambassador to the U.S., for a holiday event in collaboration with Ireland’s magnificent country house hotel Ballyfin Demesne. The celebration begins at 6 p.m. in The Inn’s Tavern Ballroom, followed by a 7 p.m. show at the Little Washington Theatre. Performances will include a live show by The Boyle School of Irish Dance and the world-famous Irish fiddler Haley Richardson. O’Connell will serve dinner in The Inn’s dining room alongside Sam Moody, executive chef of Ballyfin Demesne. The menu includes dishes such as Lobster & Savoy Cabbage Terrine with royal Osetra caviar and champagne butter sauce; Ravioli of Smoked Gubbeen Cheese with kale and Virginia country ham; Grilled King Lamb Chop perfumed with rosemary on lentils du puy with minted béarnaise; a Lilliputian Mint-Chocolate Popsicle; and a trio of Irish-inspired desserts.
