Spies Next Door: Three Stories of Espionage and Counterintelligence in Arlington

When: March 25, 7-8:30 p.m.

Where: Shirlington Branch Library, 4200 Campbell Ave., Arlington

Who doesn’t love stories about spies, secrets and scandals? David Robarge, chief historian of the CIA, has three such hyper-local tales to tell, two involving Arlington residents: spy-hunter James Angleton and traitor Aldrich Ames. Admission is free.



Colin Quinn: The Wrong Side of History

For those that didn’t get their literary fill at the NoVA Teen Book Festival, this weekend-long event just might do the trick. Organized by an author (Jennifer L. Armentrou) and designed for young-adult, new-adult and adult authors and their readers, this event includes author panels, signing sessions, swag, games and even a PJ after party. Dorothy Meets Alice or The Wizard of Wonderland

When: March 28-April 5

Where: The Alden, 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean

The two famed heroines meet when a young man puts off his book report until the last minute. Suddenly, familiar characters like the Cowardly Lion, Mad Hatter, Scarecrow and White Rabbit need help unscrambling their stories while avoiding the Wicked Witch and the Red Queen. Performances are Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets $15; $10 for McLean Community Center district residents.
