Summer brings live music festivals, outdoor movies, a cycling classic and Taste of Del Ray.

Armed Forces Cycling Classic

Where: 2100 Crystal Drive, Arlington

When: June 1-2

This weekend on wheels features races for cyclists of all abilities: The event gets rolling with the Challenge Ride on June 1, an amateur ride open to all. And more competitive cyclists can race with some of the nation’s top cyclists in the Crystal Cup on June 1 or the 22nd Annual Clarendon Cup on June 2. Registration fees range from free to $50, depending on the race.

Films in the Park

Where: Strawberry Park, Mosaic District

When: June 2-Sept. 1, 7-9 p.m.

Enjoy a relaxing finale to the weekend with the family at Mosaic District’s outdoor film series. Gather on the sprawling lawn outside of the Angelika Theater for animated and live-action movies such as Mary Poppins Returns, Homeward Bound and Hook. Free.

Where: Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria

Sample bites from 18 eateries, including Cheesetique, Pork Barrel BBQ and Taqueria Poblano, at the 11th annual Taste of Del Ray. For an upgraded experience, purchase a VIP ticket, offering early admission and a wine tasting. $5-$50.


 

17th Annual Green Home and Garden Tour

When: June 2, 1-5 p.m.

Want to make your home a little greener? This 17th annual tour showcases a variety of new green homes, green renovations and watershed-friendly gardens, along with ideas for making your house more efficient and sustainable, such as solar power and water-saving systems. $5.

Laurence Juber

Where: Jammin Java, 227 Maple Ave., Vienna

When: June 2, 7 p.m.

Laurence Juber, onetime lead guitarist for Paul McCartney and Wings, comes to Jammin Java to share his multi-genre brand of solo guitar. He’s got more than 20 albums under his belt, including LJ Plays the Beatles and an album of tracks by composer Henry Mancini, (Pink Panther and Breakfast at Tiffany’s). $20-$23.

Bobby Brown and Bell Biv DeVoe

Where: Filene Center at Wolf Trap, 1551 Trap Road, Vienna

When: June 2, 8 p.m.

The trio that brought us “Poison” reunites with fellow New Edition alum Bobby Brown for a night sure to be heavy on new jack swing. Also notable: R&B trio SWV of “Weak” and “I’m So Into You” fame is the opener. $45-$95.
