International Comedy Showcase

Poet and author Tracy K. Smith

Ordinary Light: A Memoir

Tracy K. Smith, appointed the 22nd United States Poet Laureate in 2017, discusses her work as part of the Arlington Reads series. Smith is the author of four books of poetry, including her most recent, Wade in the Water. Her collection Life on Mars won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize. A finalist for the National Book Award, Smith’s Ordinary Light is a memoir that explores coming of age and the meaning of home against a complex backdrop of race, faith, and the bond between a mother and daughter. Attendance is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Free.
