Taco + Pina
Graham Bartlett’s Shirlington taqueria opened this spring and has expanded its patio to accommodate 22 seats. The menu offers several gluten-free and vegetarian brunch options, including a best-selling breakfast quesadilla with eggs, stretchy Oaxaca cheese and poblano peppers. Weekend mornings also feature a frozen “mimosarita” with agave tequila, sparkling wine, orange juice and lime. //4041 Campbell Ave. Arlington

Café Kindred
The snug little cafe has limited outside seating, available on a first come, first-served basis. The weekend brunch menu, available until 3 p.m., includes Kindred’s best-selling poutine with sausage gravy, as well as colorful Fruity Pebble pancakes (because why not?) and brioche French toast with berry compote. No tables available? The restaurant also has an online ordering system for contact-free pick-up (no delivery). //450 N. Washington St., Falls Church (Northgate Building)

Wilson Hardware
Fan favorites at this trendy hangout include avocado toast topped with radishes, cherry tomatoes and peppery arugula, and French toast made with brioche and amaretto cream. Also popular: $20 pitchers of grapefruit, hibiscus or traditional OJ mimosas with penny refills. The restaurant offers patio and rooftop seating, including for private events, by reservation. //2915 Wilson Blvd. Arlington (Clarendon)

Dogwood Tavern
If your cravings skew savory, Dogwood can hook you up with an order of Cajun breakfast grits with gulf shrimp in a spicy Virginia ham gravy. Or an everything-bagel egg sandwich. The tavern has claimed part of an adjacent parking lot for patio dining, and also has outdoor seating in its rooftop “sky bar.” //132 W. Broad St., Falls Church City

Ragtime
A neighborhood go-to for more than a decade, the New Orleans-themed pub (whose sister restaurants include Dogwood Tavern, William Jeffrey’s Tavern and Rhodeside Grill) has covered patio seating and large, operable windows along its front exterior wall. For a sweet and boozy treat, order the churro doughnuts and an Alchemist Coffee cold brew (a D.C.-based roaster) with Irish whiskey. If you’re feeling salty, a Bloody mary will satisfy. //1345 N. Courthouse Rd., Arlington (Courthouse)

Silver Diner
Silver Diner has added custom air purification and filtration systems at all of its locations in an effort to make indoor dining safer for guests and staff. The local chainlet also offers tented outdoor seating at its Merrifield (Mosaic) and Arlington locations, as well as contact-free carryout and delivery. Organic bison huevos rancheros with whole-wheat tortillas are a popular brunch choice, as is the avocado toast with hemp hearts and microgreens, topped with smoked salmon. // 3200 Wilson Blvd., Arlington (Clarendon); 8101 Fletcher St., McLean; 8150 Porter Road, Falls Church (Merrifield)
