Light Up the Night! Hanukkah Celebration

Where: Mosaic District, 2901 District Ave., Fairfax

Engage in a little Hanukkah merriment at a public menorah lighting hosted by the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia, featuring kids’ activities, music, dreidel-spinning and the opportunity to nibble on sufganiyot (doughnuts). Admission is free.


New Year’s Eve with The Legwarmers

When: Dec. 31

Where: The State Theatre, 220 North Washington St., Falls Church

Ring in the new year and Safety Dance like it’s 1985!  Tease your hair big, throw on some neon and shoulder pads and join D.C.’s favorite 80s tribute band in rockin’ out to tunes by Madonna, Flock of Seagulls, Def Leppard and more. Must be 21 to enter. Tickets $50.


Watch Night Falls Church

When: Dec. 31, 7 p.m. – midnight

Where: Mr. Brown’s Park/ Downtown Falls Church City (100 block of West Broad Street)

The 21st annual family-friendly (and free) street party promises six live bands (including headliner Sudden M-PAC Band), karaoke, food snacks, hot cocoa, climbing walls and inflatable obstacle courses, caricatures, puppet shows, games, fire pits and more. Plus, tours of the historic Falls Church Episopal with costumed guides from 5-7 p.m. Free shuttle buses will be running from the East Falls Church Metro station until 1 a.m.
