Known for its fine arts, nursing and education programs, VCU is located in the heart of Richmond and, in many ways, the heartbeat of the city. The number of APS applicants to this urban school dropped slightly this year (386, compared with 401 in 2018) but it remains one of the most sought-after colleges for Arlington seniors. U.S. News & World Report ranked it #162 among the Top National Universities. In-state tuition is $14,596 ($35,244 out-of-state), and total enrollment is 24,058.
