Arlington applications to Virginia Tech’s undergraduate programs dropped significantly last year (299 for the 2019-2020 school year, compared with 411 applicants the previous year). This rural college on 2,600 acres, known for its engineering program and seven research institutes, ranked 74th among the Top National Universities by U.S. News & World Report. In-state tuition is $13,691 ($32,835 out-of-state) and its enrollment is 27,811. Tech is currently laying the groundwork for a much bigger presence in Arlington, with the impending arrival of its $1 billion Virginia Tech Innovation Campus next to Amazon HQ2 in National Landing.
