Spring performances are in full bloom at area theaters, and Shirlington’s newest sports bar offers a unique viewing experience for those craving a trip to King’s Landing.

Spunk, at Signature Theatre (4200 Campbell Ave.) now through June 23, is based on short stories by novelist, playwright and anthropologist Zora Neale Hurston. It presents stories from African-American life in the early 1900s against a blues-tinged backdrop. Tickets $40-$85.

On Air, a production by the powerhouse musical theater couple Matt Conner and Stephen Gregory Smith, at Creative Cauldron, chronicles the rise of the broadcast radio era. Tickets $20-$32.
Finally, celebrate Mother’s Day with the ultimate badass mom —the Mother of Dragons. For a serious GOT fix, head to Dudley’s Sport & Ale in Shirlington and watch Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 5 in the sports bar’s comfy stadium seats. The theater-style seats are first-come first-serve.
