Where: 5001 Washington Blvd., Halethorpe, Maryland

Maryland might be a hike, but it’s a heck of a lot quicker than traveling all the way to Dublin for fresh Guinness. Specially brewed holiday releases on tap at the Baltimore-area brewery (the only Guinness operation outside of Ireland) include a Crosslands Clover Honey Ale with local honey from Apex Bee Co.; a Black Currant Stout (black currant syrup is occasionally added to stouts in the mother land); and an amber ale brewed with Irish Breakfast Tea. An Irish market with some 30 vendors will offer food and drink pairings, unique goods, and cultural booths. Admission is $15 for designated drivers and $20 for others (the latter includes one complimentary beer).

The Chieftains

When: March 19, 8 p.m.

Where: George Mason University Center for the Arts, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax

Six-time Grammy Award-winning Irish music legends The Chieftains will be making a stop just down the road in Fairfax on their final “The Irish Goodbye” farewell tour. Known for bringing traditional Irish folk music to the mainstream, the group has collaborated with artists such as Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Alison Kraus and Luciano Pavarotti. A must-see.
