You really can’t close out your summer properly without partaking in Restaurant Week, that glorious series of days when some of the area’s most sought-after dining establishments offer $22 lunches/brunches and $35 dinners. Most places are offering discounts and special menus August 12-18 (with some extending the deals even longer) .
We took a peek at the dinner menus from a few of the participating restaurants on this side of the Potomac and found a number of tantalizing dishes. Here’s a sampling to start salivating over:
Baba
The swanky underground bar below Ambar is offering a deal that includes one appetizer, entree and signature cocktail, with the discount extending through August 25. The prosciutto croquettes (with mustard dressing and horseradish cream) and veal schnitzel with aged kajmak (a rich dairy product popular in the Balkans) and tartar sauce look pretty delectable. And the Serbian sombrero cocktail may provide a serious kick, with pink peppercorn-infused tequila, jalapeno-orange liqueur, rose water, citrus and hibiscus salt.
