Give your afternoon caffeine fix a colorful upgrade at these local teahouses.

Panda Tea House

The signature offerings at Panda Tea House (whose Pentagon City location opened earlier this year) include Vietnamese sea salt coffee with boba and the brown sugar boba milk tea, but that’s not what the shop is best known for: For an extra $1.50, guests can upgrade their order and have their bubble tea served in a lightbulb. Sounds like a bright idea for your next Instagram post—pun intended.

Shilla Bakery

This Korean-inspired shop emphasizes sweet treats, ones you can eat—pastries, cakes, tarts—and ones you can drink. Concerning the latter, its most popular beverages are the Thai tea latte boba, green tea boba, mango boba, taro boba and strawberry boba, flavors they’ve had time to perfect, as their first location opened in Annandale in 1999.
