Send some love to Puerto Rico. The eatery’s Ballston location will donate 20 percent of all proceeds from sales on Oct. 10 from 5-8 p.m. to Hurricane Maria relief efforts.

Salon Arlington at Village Sweet Bakery

The pastry shop in Westover Village is hosting the 13th Salon Arlington, a creative gathering in which local residents can meet and see the work of local artists, on Oct. 14 from 6:30-9 p.m. This one features painter Marthe McGrath, glass artist Anita Merina, jewelry designer Suzanne Schneider and potter Bikki Stricker.  Desserts, beer and wine will be served. Tickets are $15, and you must be at least 21 to attend.

Ayrshire Farm Heritage Breed Wine Dinner

Up for a foodie road trip? The Fauquier County farm will serve a four-course dinner with wine pairings on Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. featuring farm-raised, certified organic and certified humane meats.  Dishes on the preset menu include crispy pork belly with roasted pears, poached chicken breast with tarragon leg confit, sirloin steak with braised beef tongue and hazelnut financier with pear ice cream. There will be a wine discussion and a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $125 per person.
