10. Lost Dog Café

This Arlington-born chainlet now has several cafes in the area (the original Westover location has been open since 1985) and is a mecca for pizza and beer lovers. The eight-year-old Columbia Pike space — which features bright murals by Arlington artist Jessica Lovelace — hosts regular tap takeovers, and all Lost Dog locations serve up a dizzying selection (both tap and bottle) of craft brews. Favorite mutt-themed pizzas include the spicy Pitbull Pie with jalapenos, pastrami, salami, ham, pepperoni and onions; and the vegetarian Rin Tin Tin, topped with portabellas, spinach and red peppers.
