Swing’s Coffee Roasters

D.C. mini-chain Swing’s built its Del Ray location with large windows to highlight the roasting facility inside, and baristas host weekly public tastings in its cupping and training lab. In summer, the nitro draft latte and nitro black coffee are both served chilled with local milk and raw cane sugar.  But here’s this summer’s real dazzler: A newly released bourbon barrel-aged coffee that’s poured over a large ice cube and served in a traditional whiskey glass for a boozeless buzz that tastes like Saturday night. The flavor profile is achieved by aging Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Peaberry beans in bourbon barrels from D.C.’s Jos. A. Magnus & Co. distillery.
