Located in a quirky red building that was once a train station, this Clarendon café is now a bustling hub for nomadic workers who don’t mind a little ambient noise. Head barista Seth Cook is a master of espresso drinks made with CounterCulture beans, and the menu also includes tantalizing sweets by pastry chef Bridie McCulla, and savory snacks ranging from breakfast sandwiches to gourmet grilled cheese with gruyere. Just the sustenance you need to power your brain through that deadline. And when you’re done? There’s wine upstairs. A second Northside is slated to open in Falls Church City in February.
