This tragicomedy by Suzan-Lori Parks, the first African-American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize in drama (and a MacArthur “Genius” grant winner) is a Cain-and-Abel fable. African-American brothers Lincoln and Booth have depended on each other ever since their parents left, counting on Lincoln’s grifting to get by. When Lincoln impersonates his namesake in a carnival where tourists pay to play assassin, Booth resolves to become the greatest con man of all time. Soon the brothers are struggling over how best to play the tough hand America dealt them. Tickets $10-$40.
