Haunted Laurianne Woods

Oct. 19, 25, 26, 31, 7-10 p.m.

Tech professional Ben Newman has always been passionate about Halloween, and in 2013, he finally got to put that passion into action. With a big backyard, some of it wooded, Ben and his wife, Anna—with help from family, friends, neighbors, the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry, and high school and George Mason University students—decided to start hosting their own haunt. Along the wooded path, brave venturers will stumble upon an assortment of scary scenes, from the Laurianne Woods Cemetery and the Corn Fields of the Pumpkin King, to the Lair of the Spider Witch and Girrand’s Traveling Circus and Oddities Sideshow. In lieu of admission fees, visitors are asked to bring canned food items or make a monetary donation to the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry. // 8233 Katie Lynn Court, Gainesville
